Interview: Jennyfer Pothier, an atypical stylist

Jennyfer Pothier, stylist, makes us travel in her world which she herself conceived while revisiting some objects of high-fashion.

KIMY GLOSS :
Who is Jennyfer Pothier ?

Jennyfer Pothier :

I was born in 1983 in Chartres en Eure-et-Loir. I am currently married and mother of a little boy, I am a fashion stylist with more than 15 years of experience. Since the end of the year 2014, I create unique jewelry accessories, high fashion and custom made products.

KIMY GLOSS :
What do you like about your job ?

Jennyfer Pothier :
I am passionate since childhood by art and drawing. At the age of 13, I began with private tutoring in drawing and illustration (portraits and landscapes) and I am introduced to different techniques (oil painting, acrylic, pastel). At the age of 18, I moved to fashion and entered the prestigious Parisian school “FORMAMOD”, where I obtained the diploma of “Professional of the Arts of Fashion”. Until 2007, I carry out freelance missions as a full-time stylist-modelist for various French women’s ready-to-wear companies. Then, having the desire to increase my knowledge in my trade, I fly to China. I am responsible for 25 employees in a style office for 2 years in Hong Kong. In 2010, I returned to France, to be close to my family. I then occupied the position of head of office of style in a company of the “Parisian trail” specialized in central purchasing.

KIMY GLOSS :
What are your inspirations ?

Jennyfer Pothier :
In 2014, during my pregnancy, I materialize the idea of creating unique jewelry accessories with noble or unusual materials, such as jeans, leather and high-quality crystal beads. These achievements stem from my imagination and are inspired by the romantic period of the 18th century (a collection “Marie Antoinette”) and the Victorian era (19th). Necklaces, bracelets, earrings … are all “handmade” in a single copy. With time, the ideas are asserted and the jewels offered benefit from qualified know-how: originality and elegance, finesse and precision. The company “Le Boudoir de Ladybird” is born in the spring of 2015, with a ladybird logo (I like to collect “beasts of the good Lord”, a sign of happiness since the Middle Ages).

KIMY GLOSS :
What do you think makes you stand out from other designers ?

Jennyfer Pothier :
I have different style and ideas from the others. My creations have tapped into the eye of several famous French and foreign personalities. Collaborations are underway and more are planned for early next year.

KIMY GLOSS :
What is your evaluation for all these years and what are your innovations for 2017 ?

Jennyfer Pothier :
Despite major competition from big brands and small craftsmen, with my company Ladybird, I am satisfied with the result achieved in the space of a year and a half.

KIMY GLOSS :
Who are the personalities who wore your collections ?

Jennyfer Pothier :
Since September 2015, the ambassador of Ladybird is the Franco-Chinese actress Yubai ZHANG. She wears the creations on various occasions, especially in France, abroad and on the TV channel YubaiTV (followed by 2 million people in China). At the Cannes 2016 Festival, I collaborated with Jean Paul Gaultier, Emanuel Ungaro and Christian Louboutin to dress and accessorize the musical group LEJ. I also accessorized many personalities of French reality TV, as well as many models during Fashion Week’s fashion shows.

“And it is not ideas I lack! Just the time. “

KIMY GLOSS  :
What do you think about the current fashion in the world?

Jennyfer Pothier :
Fashion today is no different from other years; there is an eternal restart over styles, colors and form. Only one thing is different, my creations are all out of the ordinary. And it is not ideas I lack! Just the time.

For a start of dazzling career, Ladybird is not ready to stop there, case to follow…
